Praxis

Listen | Engage | Create

Praxis (Ancient Greek: πρᾶξις) is the process by which a theory, lesson, or skill is enacted, embodied, or realized. It can also refer to the act of engaging, applying, exercising, realizing, or practicing ideas to solve core design projects through form and function.

As a firm, Praxis guides our design approach by implementing the principles of listening, engaging, and creating. Our process is not linear but fluid, moving among these three principles until we achieve a thoughtful, well-crafted design.

Listen

We listen to our clients' needs and understand the unique challenges of each project. We have designed a series of client engagement activities that make the listening process more visual, allowing diverse stakeholders to participate and building consensus among the group.

Engage

By engaging with stakeholders through carefully crafted activities aimed at generating numerous design possibilities and testing all variables, we provide everyone an opportunity for their ideas to be heard, documented, and considered by the group.

Create

Drawing on insights gathered from stakeholders, our partners translate stakeholder insights into thoughtful hybrid design proposals that are presented to the client for feedback and ongoing collaboration.
