A Campus Expanded and Modernized for Student-Athletes, Stage Performers, and the Community.

Additions and renovations at Byron Nelson High School are designed to enhance the campus to meet district standards for capacity and program equity in response to ongoing community growth. The improvements focus on enhancing performing arts, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and athletics. Renovations to the cafeteria, competition gymnasium, agriculture shop, and auditorium include strategic expansions to existing spaces to accommodate increasing enrollment and evolving program needs.

Upon entering the competition gymnasium, spectators experience a new lobby celebrating the school’s athletic achievements, leading to an expanded and updated arena designed for both athletes and fans.

To meet growing demand for athletic facilities, a new 7,500-seat football stadium and entry portal provide a state-of-the-art venue for community events, while renovations to the existing stadium enable the district to host track meets and home games.

The existing auditorium is revitalized with a new mezzanine level, upgraded audio/visual systems, and refreshed interior finishes—creating a modern, inviting environment where the next generation of performing arts students can refine their craft and showcase their talents.

Architecturally, the project blends traditional school design elements with the contemporary aesthetic of the new field house, creating a cohesive and unified campus identity. Together, these additions and renovations elevate Byron Nelson High School into a modern, connected, and community-centered campus—one that celebrates performance, competition, and student achievement across every discipline.

“The design team was instrumental in creating dynamic spaces for our 6A growth. Glenn|Partners’ creativity combined with their building knowledge allowed us to get the most out of this project, providing an incredible impact to our spaces and students.”
