The new reimagined campus for St Mary of Carmel Catholic School, located in Dallas, Texas in the revitalized area for Trinity Groves, provides a completely new outlook on education for the campus’ Pre-K through 8th grade students. The 80 year old campus has served the catholic education community well, however, the existing facilities are now in need of major infrastructure repair and not suited to support next-generation instruction and student learning for the future-ready classroom environments. Phase 1 of the two-step campus master plan will include partial demolition of the existing campus while the remainder of the existing facilities will remain operational to serve as swing space for students during construction until Phase 2 begins.

New construction will consist of a 2-story, 45,000 sf modern education facility supporting authentic and blended learning environments for all grade levels including shared academic spaces such as a Music Room, Learning Lab, Computer Lab, Reading Resource Rooms , Language Labs, Science Lab and an adjacent Art Studio with access to an Outdoor Learning Terrace. Distributed flexible and open collaboration areas will also serve the school’s core learning spaces along with a centralized 2-story media center. One of the greatest needs for the aging campus is to strengthen the school’s identity within the surrounding neighborhood and to have public campus access from Singleton Boulevard. The new and consolidated Central Administration area provides a reimagined entry for campus visitors and parents while providing views and supervision onto the campus’ relocated outdoor play area. A new Student Cafeteria and Kitchen will also provide modern dining facilities with direct access from the re-planned student drop off and pick up area for morning and afternoon activities as well as access to the protect outdoor play area.

The new modern campus for St Mary of Carmel is designed to meet LEED Certification while also including a storm shelter that complies with the 2015 IBC regulations.
